St. John’s National Merit Finalists

St. John’s School congratulates six upper school students for their selection as National Merit Finalists. The National Merit program tries to identify 8,000 of the top students in the world through a process of evaluating examination results, essays, academic records, and recommendations. This is the penultimate step in becoming a National Merit Scholar.

Congratulations to the following students pictured from left to right: Crystal Lee, Charlson Ro, Ariana Barreau, Anne Zou, Andrew Mathews and Alvin Qu.

At St. John’s School, students are encouraged to take the most rigorous course work they can. By eleventh grade, students take International Baccalaureate or Advanced Placement classes. Some choose to pursue the IB diploma, some take both IB and AP classes, and other students create personalized combinations of classes that suit their needs and interests for college and career preparation.
