Shizuoka Kita Youth Science Engineering (SKYSEF) 2016

From August 10-13, 200 students from 8 countries met in Shimizu, Shizuoka, Japan for the 5th SKYSEF gathering to share their research regarding energy, environment, and biodiversity. Four of St. John’s 9th grade students, along with Science teacher Mrs. Stacy Gilmore, attended to present their research projects.

Haram Kim, Kaela Kim, and Jennifer Schmidt prepared poster presentations of their research and Nicole Mathews presented her research orally. Among the 24 oral presentations at SKYSEF, Nicole Mathews earned the top award for Best Oral Presentation. All four of these students represented St. John’s extremely well in their research presentations and were great ambassadors for Guam.
