ST. JOHN’S GOLF TOURNAMENT A HUGE SUCCESS

St. John’s Annual Golf Tournament was held recently on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the Onward Mangilao Golf Club with proceeds to benefit the St. John’s Knights for Knights Scholarship Program, aiding local students in need who wish to attend the school. Over 90 avid golfers participated in the 18-hole tournament, featuring a two-person scramble select shot.

Throughout the course, participants also enjoyed the variety of competitions, including Hole-In-One, Closest to the Pin, and Longest Drive. A Buick Encore, $7,600 in gasoline and $5,000 cash were up for grabs for the Hole-in-One challenge.

In spite of the gloomy weather conditions, the golfers were unfazed and braved through the occasional downpour while still appreciating the camaraderie and exceptional golf experience.

The players unwound at the award banquet dinner after the exciting round of golf, where they had the chance to win great raffle prizes. Unique, shell-designed trophies were awarded to the top 3 team low net winners. Each player also brought home a St. John’s ditty bag with assorted goods and a complementary photograph of their group and swing as a keepsake.

The first place winners of this year’s tournament were Spencer Steffy & TJ Hubert, followed by Jimmy Mafnas & Frank Mafnas in second place. Zach Damian and Yuji Damian finished in third place. The top team low gross winners were JJ Atalig & Ryan Kim.

A big thank you to our many sponsors, supporters, volunteers and other donors for making this year’s tournament a huge success.
