Returning from Christmas break in South Korea, 6th grade student, Grace Kang, brought back with her two distinguished musical souvenirs. Grace won first place in the elementary division at the Korea Academy National Convention – A Student Music Competition which was held on December 28, 2019 and the Seoul Music Scholarship Competition on December 21, 2019. She performed in both competitions, Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E Minor, Op. 64, Third Movement by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy.
In preparation for her looming competitions, the budding musician had undergone 3 hours of violin practice each day.
Grace would like to thank her brother, Sunny Kang, for tuning her violin daily. She jested that she would call him a “human tuner”. She, furthermore, thanked her parents for helping her improve her violin skills and for the continuous support they have shown.
