The Chemistry Program at the University of Guam hosted its annual Chemistry Titration Competition for high school students during the university’s Charter Day celebrations on Tuesday, March 10, 2020. The competition is an experimental based exercise of acid-base titration laboratory.
Each participating school was allowed to send two teams, which consisted of 2 students per team. Prizes were given to students with the highest scores in the Team, Individual, and Laboratory Skills categories. Seven high schools including St. John’s School competed this year.
Under the guidance of science teacher Ms. Kathy Yang, four Upper School students represented St. John’s School. Congratulations to the following students for their accomplishment at this year’s UOG Chemistry Titration Competition:
- Chanyoung Lee (Junior): 1st Place Laboratory Skills
- Brian Joseph (Junior): 3rd Place Laboratory Skills
- Grace Hutapea (Junior): 1st Place Individual
- Matthew Zhang (Senior) and Grace Hutapea (Junior): 2nd place Team
