Musicians from all around the world participated in the 2020-2021 Canadian International Music Competition held online last December. Participants were categorized based on age group and level – Artist, Young Artist, Junior Performers, Rising Stars, and Budding Stars.
High school sophomore, Justine Xu, earned the highest award of Absolute First Prize (Platinum Medal) in the Young Artists category. Absolute First Prize is given to an artist who scored a perfect 100% in the competition. In the competition, Xu performed the first movement of Sibelius Violin Concerto in D minor, commonly regarded as one of the most intense and difficult violin concerto pieces ever written.
Congratulations Justine on your recent musical achievement!
