Two Upper School Students Repaint Neighborhood Bus Stop

If you happen to drive around the village of Chalan Pago-Ordot, you may come across a newly painted bus stop with a koi fish-themed design. Upper school students, Kaia Malakooti and Tylee Shepherd worked on a creative project that enabled them to enjoy some fresh outdoor air, serve the community, and work together with a friend during the lockdown. They decided to repaint their neighborhood bus stop as their service project.

Malakooti and Shepherd began the project in October and signed it off on January 5, 2021.

Malakooti stated that the design was inspired by a mural they once saw in Japan.

“We got compliments from people passing by while we were working. It was a fun project to work on,” said Malakooti.
