The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Guam, in partnership with GovGuam agencies and the community, hosted an art contest to commemorate the 42nd Anniversary of the Taiwan Relations Act. The theme for the Guam & Taiwan: Past, Present & Future Friendship Art Drawing Contest was “Guam and Taiwan: Timeless Friendship” and was intended for elementary to college students.
Students exhibited the friendship between Guam and Taiwan through a realistic or abstract illustration, using a variety of media including pens and pencils, crayons, markers, watercolor, acrylic, pencil, pastel, charcoal, tempera, and oil. Digital art and photography were not allowed.
Three St. John’s students ranked in the top three of their respective categories:
- Kailani Kim, 3rd grade: 3rd Place (Elementary School Category)
- Vinicia Kim, 7th grade: 2nd Place (Middle School Category)
- Liam Padua, 9th grade: 1st Place (High School Category)
Congratulations to our talented artists!
