High school junior, Kasey Xu, represented St. John’s School and Guam at the Regeneron International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF) 2021 last May. Due to the global pandemic, the competition was held virtually this year. The Regeneron ISEF, a program of the Society for Science, is the world’s largest international pre-college science competition awarding approximately $4 million in prizes each year.
Xu was selected for the Regeneron ISEF by placing first in Guam’s 43rd Island Wide Science Fair, Division IV Energy and Inventions Category and placing second overall.
Under the Materials Science (MATS) category, Xu presented her project entitled “Developing a Flexible, Stretchable, and Conductible Polyurethane/Liquid Metal Composite for Future Electronics”.
