St. John’s School hosted its annual golf tournament fundraiser on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at the Onward Mangilao Golf Club. The tournament supports the school’s Knights for Knights Scholarship Program, aiding local students who wish to attend the school. 120 golfers participated in the 18-hole tournament, featuring a two-person scramble select shot.
Throughout the course, participants also enjoyed the variety of competitions, including Hole-In-One, Closest to the Pin, and Longest Drive. A Buick Encore, $500 in fuel, and $5,000 cash were up for grabs for the Hole-in-One challenge.
Players enjoyed the camaraderie and exceptional golf experience. Each player also brought home a St. John’s ditty bag with assorted goods and a complimentary photograph of their group and swing as a keepsake.
A brief awarding ceremony was held virtually via Zoom on Monday, November 22. Trophies and prizes were given to the top 3 low net and top 3 low gross.
The first-place low net winners were Amos Taijeron and Ron Pablo, followed by Michael Bernales and James Heffelfinger in second place. Phil Santos and Peter Montinola finished in third place. The top team low gross winners were Kayley Kang and Tyanna Jacot, followed by Kyle Hinds and Kenny Sowell, and Robert Manalo and Gilbert Manansala in third.
