St. John’s seniors, Felix Gong, Darya Ouhadi, and Ashley Yang, have been selected as candidates in the 2022 United States Presidential Scholars Program. They are among more than 5,000 nationwide candidates who scored exceptionally well on the SAT or ACT.
The U.S. Presidential Scholars Program was established in 1964, by Executive Order of the President, to recognize and honor some of our nation’s most distinguished graduating high school seniors. Presidential scholars are selected on the basis of academic achievement, artistic excellence, leadership qualities, and service to the school and community.
Approximately 600 will be selected as semifinalists by the Commission on Presidential Scholars. In April, up to 161 high school seniors will be named as US Presidential Scholars.
