St. John’s Service Club, National Honor Society, and Tri-M Music Honor Society are donating six microscopes to Don Bosco Technical College-Cebu in Cebu City, Philippines.
On December 16, 2021, Category 5 Typhoon Rai (local name Odette) significantly impacted the campus of Don Bosco Technical College-Cebu, damaging the facilities and its equipment, furnishings, and fixtures. The donated microscopes, each valued a little over $200, will help re-equip the institution’s laboratories.
St. John’s Music Director and alumnus of Bosco Technical College-Cebu, Mr. Norman Babia, extended his heartfelt appreciation to the SJS students for their sincere generosity. “These donations will really help the Science Department get back on its curriculum,” expressed Babia. He will coordinate the logistics of shipping the microscopes to the Philippines.
