The musical talent of our students shone brightly on Friday, December 9, at our first Christmas concert in almost three years. The lower school concert was held in the morning, followed by the middle and upper school concert in the afternoon. The Dale Jenkins Gymnasium was filled with merry tunes and astounding talent as our students impressed concertgoers.
The lower school concert kicked off with Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24 and Hallelujah Chorus by the St. John’s Symphony Orchestra, followed by performances by the Handbells Ensemble. The kindergarten to fifth-grade classes delighted parents and guests with their jolly Christmas performances. The morning concert concluded with an energetic piece by the fifth-graders, Cray Cray Christmas.
In the afternoon, the middle and upper school concert included performances by the two MS Bands, “Island Elves” and “the Green Grinches,” Handbells Ensemble, US Band, Faculty and Staff Band, Glee Club and the Band, String and Symphony Orchestras. The Tri-M Music Honor Society president, Blase Ramos, gave a special “Thank You” presentation to the maintenance and office staff, PTA, and Board of Trustees. Tech Crew’s Isaac Campus also conveyed a surprise shout-out to Mr. Norman Babia, SJS Music Director, teacher, and Tri-M Music Honor Society & Tech-Crew Advisor, for his unwavering commitment to the students and school.
Emcees, Joanne Park and Zoe Ayala, wrapped up the event by greeting the concertgoers a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
Thank you to everyone who came along and supported the students!
