St. John’s School hosted its annual golf tournament last Saturday, October 19, 2019 at the Onward Mangilao Golf Club with all proceeds to benefit the St. John’s School Knights for Knights Scholarship Program, aiding local students in need who wish to attend the school.
St. John’s Tri-M Music Honor Society hosted its inaugural benefit concert on September 15, 2019 at the Dale J. Jenkins Gymnasium.
Five St. John’s School seniors have been identified as semifinalists in the 2020 National Merit Scholarship Program. They are among the 16,000 semifinalists that were selected by the officials of the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC).
St. John’s high school freshman, Seungho “Sunny” Kang recently won the East Asia & Oceania Regional Award for the 12 to 15 age division in the 13th Toyota Dream Car Art Contest.
Representing Guam in the 2019 Australian International Music Festival in Sydney, Australia, the Tumon Bay Youth Orchestra (TBYO) performed with and competed against more than 1400 participants from July 4th to 11th at different concert venues including the iconic Sydney Opera House, Chatswood Concourse, and Maritime Museum at Darling Harbour in Sydney.
A sibling duo from St. John’s School both recently won first place in their respective categories at the 75th Guam Liberation Day Children’s Art Contest.
Congratulations to six of our St. John’s students who garnered top awards in the 2019 International Young Scientists Innovation Exhibition (IYSIE) held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on July 8-12, 2019. This event was organized by the Malaysia Young Scientist Organization (MYSO).

The honor of being salutatorian for St. John’s Class of 2019 was awarded to Halen Carbonel. Throughout his stay in St. John’s, Halen has maintained focus and flourished through the rigorous academic programs that has molded him to achieve greatness.
Through hard work and dedication, Jaclyn Perez is this year’s class valedictorian, the highest academic accomplishment a high school student can achieve.
