Catching up with alumni offers a unique insight into the paths their lives have taken since graduation. In this instance, we reconnect with Takumi Simon, a 2018 graduate with an enduring passion for basketball since childhood. He pursued his dream of playing professionally and now proudly represents the Shinshu Brave Warriors in Japan’s top basketball league, all while maintaining connections with SJS friends.
This month, our spotlight falls on Annie (Liu) Yi, a St. John’s lifer from the Class of 2006. She is a manager of a pharmacy attached to an HIV/Hepatitis clinic, catering to the needs of LA’s Skid Row’s homeless community where she finds fulfillment in her role, cherishing the rewarding experience of giving back to the community.
We catch up with Ramona Jones, an alumna from the Class of 1991 who after working in civil service, returned to Guam and currently leads her family’s corporation as its CEO.
This year’s St. John’s Class of 2023 Salutatorian, Vaishnavi Khandelwal, has consistently demonstrated a strong work ethic, dedication, and a passion for learning throughout her academic journey. She has embraced the challenge of rigorous academic programs and has excelled in her studies, earning her the recognition as one of the top achievers in her graduating class.
Jordan Baden, the Valedictorian of St. John’s Class of 2023, has been awarded the highest honor in the class. She has not only excelled academically but also made a name for herself as an accomplished athlete. Throughout her high school years, Jordan has demonstrated exceptional dedication and commitment to her studies and athletic pursuits.
We reconnect with Hannah (Jang) Kim from the Class of 2004 as she recaps her many fond memories at St. John’s School. She now works as a senior director of nursing research & EBP and nurse scientist at Kaiser Permanente, where she enjoys helping nurses and patients holistically.
We catch up with Leo Takagi, a St. John’s lifer from the Class of 1993, who has been in the property and casualty insurance industry for 25 years. He now heads the Japan Representative Office for the W.R. Berkley Corporation.
