SJS Young Social Scientists Compete at International Conference

Seven students from St. John’s School competed on-line in the International Conference of Young Social Scientists (ICYSS), Belgrade Serbia, from May 20-23, 2022. Teams from across the world competed, including teams from Guam, Macau, Indonesia, Malaysia, India, Turkey, Serbia, Slovenia, and Mexico. All SJS students did very well, placing in several categories. Congratulations to our Young Social Scientists!

• Alexander Gayle & Jin Chung (team & co-captains), 11th grade – 1st Place Geography Poster Presentation & IV Degree in Geography
• Tim Hutapea (individual), 11th grade – Silver Medal in Sociology
• Seungho (Sunny) Kang (individual) 11th grade – IV Degree in History
• Yannan (Mike) Zhu (individual), 11th grade – Bronze Medal in History
• Luke Jang (individual), 10th grade – 3rd Place Poster Presentation & IV Degree in History
• Rina Olsen (individual), 9th grade – 2nd Place Poster Presentation & Bronze Medal in History
